Navajo Monument Tour and sightseeing

We just got back from a Sunset Monument Tour.  Our tour guide name was Harry Nez.  He is a local Navajo tour guide and he was fantastic!  He not only gave us a lot of insight to the area and culture but his own personal stories of his family and how he grew up.  This tour wouldn't have been the same without him! The tour was suppose to be 2 1/2 half hours but it turned into 4 hours.  We had a private tour...we didn't plan it that way but it just so happened we were the only ones on this tour.  We used a smaller tour company that was rated the best...yes, a few more bucks but well spent!  Monument Valley should be on EVERYONE'S bucket list !

Many John Ford movies were made here and many others too

My Favorite picture !

As we were coming out from our tour

I have always wanted to see this place.  Every since I was a boy and watched all those western movies with John Wayne and Henry Fonda.  It was better than I thought it would be. I am posting lots of pictures that I want to share, how can I chose which ones ?

This where John Wayne had his quarters in 'Yellow Ribbon"

Headquarters in "Yellow Ribbon"

During our tour, Andy kept saying " Tammy would just love this"  I must have heard that 10 times or more.  I think "Andy just loved this too".  Our guide played the flute, in a open cave with a hole in the ceiling and told us old Navajo stories!

We are off tomorrow, Sunday, to Moab,Utah to check out Canyonland and Arches National Parks.
