Antietam Battle was the bloodiest battle of the American Civil War. Of nearly 100,000 soldiers engaged in battle, about 23,000 were killed, wounded, or missing in less than 24 hours.
Andy loves the history of the American Civil War |
This is the field where most of the battles took place. |
Monument for the Officers of the New York Infantry...no mention of the soldiers...Boo ! |
On out way to Antietam Battlefield and West Virgina we decided to take a hike on the Appalachian Trail. I am not going to say how far we hiked. Just going to say we walked on the trail.

Barbara, did you know he had this house too ! We saw several children playing there also...maybe his "other Grandchildren". I would have a sit down "heart to heart" with him about this....lol
Andy wanted to take stroll through the Zoo. We knew it was going to be over 95 degrees with lots of humidity so we went early. Glad we did. I took these pictures because it reminded me of someone or something about someone.
This is, who know who ! |
Stevie this one is for you and you know why...lol |
This is what Tammy and Andy does at the cabin....lay around and enjoy! |
Since we have been here, we have traveled a lot on the Metro Subway. It is easy, fast, and affordable. We have been on every colored line. We got on Metro everyday on the last southern green line known as "Branch".
Andy wouldn't look down...see the people way down there ! NOPE ! |
We are cleaning the RV and getting ready to fly to Las Vegas for a few days and then home for 6 weeks or so. We are leaving the RV here at Andrews Air Force Base while we are gone.
We will not be posting on the blog while we are gone but will have lots to post when we get back. Hopefully will get to see and spend time with many of you while we are back in town.
