Memphis and Beale Street, Tennesse

Our first stop was Graceland !  Somehow, the camera got left in the car so pictures are NOT forthcoming.
We are not great big Elvis fans. However, if you are in Memphis, it's almost a crime not to go!  It was interesting and did give us some insight as to his life and the start of Rock N Roll.  He definitely needed a better interior decorator or were all people that color blind in the 60's and early 70's?  You could tell us Andy and Dee...lol

This is where Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis & Carl Perkins all were "found" !

Sun Studios
Andy standing on the same floor all those music greats stood on..she loved it!
Next stop, Peabody Hotel and the famous "Marching Ducks".  Since the late 1930's ducks have marched down from the roof to the elevator, and then into the fountain where they swim for 6 hours, before marching back.

Look closely and you can see the ducks being ducks...lol
When John Phillip "Souza's March" is played, off they go. It is Fun to watch and not something you see everyday!!  Interesting fact is that there are five ducks, one male & 4 females and they are "retired" every 3 months and new ones replace them.

What I found weird was all the dang people waiting for the silly ducks to leave.  I was one of them !

After our, not so great, dining experiences in Branson,Missouri, Andy was determined to have THE BEST ribs in Memphis.  This place was the most popular and had good reviews, so off we went!  Not good ! We didn't care for them.  Boring ribs ! Andy's small rack of ribs was appetizer portion and she left hungry.  She is done going out to eat.  Fine by me, her cooking is better anyway!!

Unable to recommend
Beale street for those of you who aren't familiar with Memphis is the happening place.  There was a huge Hot Rod Car Show going on the one night we were there.  Lots of cool "old" cars to look at and lots of people.  Kind of scary when we realized that most of the cars we thought were old were from the 60's & 70's lol.

Otto's car when Tammy was a baby...the orgninal "Blue Baby" lol
Andy's Parcel first Delivery Truck
We had such a good time cruising up and down Beale Street.  You can buy cocktails and walk down the street right in front of the police!!!  Crazy, it did remind us of New Orleans.  Music is pouring out of clubs, & just a fun vibe everywhere.

I was thinking of Scott and Tracy

Went and listened to music here & Andy finally got some more food, lol
Great music!!  Eat your heart out Scott !!!
Fun crowd
Andy was flirting and making new friends with the owners of a Hot Rod...Father and son..they were a blast !
